Congratulations to all our members, and thank you to all our Leaders who contributed to this achievement – District 42 has once again reached Select Distinguished status.
During Big Country’s 52 years of contributing to the Moose Jaw community our club has had many outstanding members. Sharon Heaney is one more of those outstanding individuals. She joined Toastmasters almost 7 years ago. Immediately her caring, her observations & vibrant personality enhanced the club climate. 2014/15 will be Sharon’s 6th term as a club officer. April organized the promotion of our Toastmasters Club at the Fort Saskatchewan Trade Show on April 25 – 27. She organized the volunteers to man the booth, printed the brochures ,and promoted our open house on May 29. April was a greeter at the door for our open house and demonstration meeting on May 29 and ensured there were refreshments and snacks for all. She also printed name tags for special guests. April’s work contributed to our club being able to obtain enough members to Charter on June 15, 2014. She has also been elected our VP Public Relations. April is dedicated and enthusiastic and a vital member of our new club.
Tim Lambert, DTM is our most longstanding member at 25 years and dedicates his time and expertise to ensure the success of the most important part of the organisation: the members. This year brings to a close his two-year term as VP Education. The position itself is pivotal to the success of any club, and under Tim’s guidance our club will achieve President’s Distinguished. Membership retention was excellent, with only two members leaving and fourteen new members joining. Continue reading
Jim is a spirit and pillar of our club Promotes the club – everywhere he went. He has sponsored new members and also conducted membership building contest. He Invites Guests to our meetings Befriends guests who attend the meeting and encourages them to join Takes Initiatives to attract new members such as the Open House Showcase. Is friendly and supportive to all members of the club. He is mentor for all of our club members. He has conducted club officers training and also coordinated Speech Craft program. He has been a speech contest judge for the area and the district He has been a district 42 spring contest Chair. No doubt the best and very humble Toastmaster and very worthy for this recognition
Jane warmly welcomes all guests to our meetings. She is an active member of our Open Houses and encourages all of our members to bring guests. She reminds club members to help with membership building. Jane promotes our club wherever she goes, posting club information in her workplace and advocating to others the benefits of Toastmasters. She invites guests to meetings, and always helps our guests feel welcome. Jane is friendly and supportive to all members of the club and truly makes a difference.
