Brenda Georget – Member Making a Difference – Woodland Communicators Club

We would like to nominate Brenda, not only for the many countless hours that she has put in promoting and getting our Club going, but also for initially having the dream and desire to start an additional Club in Prince Albert.    If it was not for Brenda, the Woodland Communicators, quite simply, would not exist!!

When we chartered, it was mentioned by one of the New Club Mentors that he felt that Prince Albert was maybe too small for another Club as we already had 2.  He supported and helped out, but wasn’t sure of how successful we would be.  Continue reading

In Memoriam – Bill Brown, DTM

It is profound sadness that I pass along the news that Bill Brown, DTM passed away on September 2, 2014.

Bill was Toastmaster for 50 years, having joined in 1964.  He was a charter member of both Coulee Commentators and the Eyeopener clubs both of Lethbridge. Bill continued to be active in both clubs and served the Toastmasters of Southern Alberta and District 42 in many capacities throughout the years and in 2003 Bill was awarded the District 42 Citation Award.

He was a friend and mentor to many Toastmasters in Lethbridge over the years. Many of the District Leaders from Lethbridge will credit Bill Brown for being a role model and mentor to them. To this day I haven’t found anyone better at delivering a 2 minute Table Topic. He was able to hit that two minute mark with an opening, body and conclusion, no matter what the topic was.

Bill’s funeral service will be held Friday September 5th at 1:00pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Lethbridge, Alberta

You can click the link below to offer your kind words.

Bill was a kind, caring and compassionate man who always took the high road in everything he did and will be greatly missed in the Toastmasters community.

Chuck LeBlanc, DTM, PDG
President, Eyeopener Toastmasters Club
