Shawmasters TM Club

ShawMasters Toastmasters Club is into its 2nd year, being chartered on Sept 27, 2011 in Division C, Area 5. Chartering at 22 members, it peaked at 26. As of this writing is has bounced down, then up again, to sit at 16 members. They meet weekly on Wednesdays from 4:45 to 6:15 pm. Despite being a closed club, guests do not have to work at Shaw to attend as they meet at 3636 Shaw Campus near 32nd Ave and Barlow Trail of NE Calgary.

Shortly after chartering, their announcement was posted on the internal Shaw intranet, bringing questions from other Shaw locations in Edmonton, Vancouver, Kelowna and Toronto regarding starting their own clubs. ShawMasters is believed to be the first Shaw Toastmasters club within Shaw Communications. Shaw Communications numbers approximately 13,000 employees from Vancouver Island to Quebec. ShawMasters hope to be an incubator and supporter for other Shaw locations interested in starting their club.

Please drop by their freetoasthost club website and say hi – http://shawmasters.toastmastersclubs.org
