As per District Administrative Bylaws, Article X: Council Meetings, Quorum, Proxies, and Voting, this meeting is a “virtual” meeting thus NO proxies will be permitted. Each district council member must cast their own vote.

Your vote as a Club President or Vice President of Education at this meeting is the voice of the members you represent and needs to be heard. In addition, quorum is required in order to complete District business at this meeting.
Each club is allotted two votes at district council meetings. One vote is reserved for the club president. The other vote is for the vice president education.
Online Voting instructions and the meeting Zoom link will be sent to all registered by September 5, 2018 from the Credential Chairs.
The District Council meeting agenda and all documents will be available here by September 1, 2018.
Please read all documents and have any questions ready prior to the meeting.
In order to facilitate accurate recording of motions, we request all members making a motion at the District Council meeting to submit their motion in writing by September 13thto the Administration Manager administration@d42tm.org.
Previous Meeting Minutes. The minutes of the previous District Council meeting held April 28, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta are posted here. These minutes will not be read at the meeting.

What is the District Council Meeting?

As per the District Leadership Handbook (page 15), the district council holds at least two regular meetings during each year. One of the required meetings is held in-person between March 15 and June 1 (being held in District 42 on May 4, 2019 at Spring Conference). The other required meeting is held as soon as practical after the Toastmasters International Annual Business Meeting, but no later than September 30 in order to approve the district budget and appointed officers for submission to World Headquarters. In District 42, this District Council meeting will be held virtually on September 15, 2018.
Quorum is needed to conduct business. Members of the District Council includes:
  • District Executive Committee (District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director, Public Relations Manager, Finance Manager, Administration Manager, Division Directors, Area Directors and Immediate Past President.)
  • Club Presidents
  • Club Vice Presidents of Education
This meeting is available virtually via web conference (online) meeting. If you are unable to participate in the meeting online, there are two physical locations available. Space is limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis. If you are able to participate virtually from your home or office, please do so.
