DISTRICT DIRECTOR CANDIDATE

Katrina Aburrow

Katrina Aburrow, DTM, Club Growth Director

Why do you want to serve as a District Leader?
Different leaders have different skill sets that are well suited for particular situations. Our district team next year will continue to lead during turbulent times which requires pragmatic optimism to lead effectively. I think I not only have the qualifications and experience but also the ability to inspire others and the optimism to take on this role as we face continued uncertainty. I think I have a big picture mentality which helps me determine a vision combined with the necessary enthusiasm to get others to buy into my vision. I am a dedicated behind-the-scenes worker who is committed to the district that has given so much to me, so paying it back AND forward is also a big part of my why. I want to create as much district-wide success as possible as well as setting up future leaders for success.

Beverley (Bev) LeBlanc, DTM, Program Quality Director

Why do you want to serve as a District Leader?
I have seen tremendous growth in many people over the years, including myself. Every time someone steps up to a higher level of leadership their growth is almost exponential. When I have taken on a role as an executive member of my club, an Area Director, or Division Director, my personal life improves. It improves because I learn more about being an effective & understanding friend, partner, and a Toastmaster.

Why do you want to serve as a District Leader?
I love Toastmasters and want to be part of the organization in some way for the next 50 years! Toastmasters can not serve the membership/clubs without members who are willing to step forward to serve as District Leaders. I want to do my small part.

Division E Director

Mary Schoendorfer

Mary Schoendorfer, DTM

Why do you want to serve as a District Leader?
I was asked to consider this role and now see the opportunities for growth that it would offer me. In addition, I want to advocate for accessibility within District 42. Having meetings, training, contests, and events online has forced us to try options to in-person events, and as a person who has mobility challenges, this has provided me an opportunity to be involved far beyond what I have been able to do. I want to advocate for that option to continue.

Division F Director

Why do you want to serve as a District Leader?
I am open to serving when called upon to do so. The experience will continue to prepare me for more leadership positions at work and help me to become a better leader overall. I also get to meet new people and learn more about toastmasters as I seek to share with other clubs.
