What is Club Leadership and Educational Development?
It’s an opportunity for club officers to get trained and for all Toastmaster members to receive some educational opportunities in a variety of different topics.
Summer sessions for each club office will provide information and leave time for interaction among participants. Winter sessions will place emphasis on answering questions and discussing common issues. Both are worth attending for all club officers.
Why should club officers attend?
They will be well informed of different topics and have an opportunity to get their questions answered.
They will meet other club officers and can create a network of fellow Toastmasters who also hold their club officer role.
As long as the following requirements are completed, each club will earn goal #9 in the Distinguished Club Program (DCP).
- A minimum of 4 club officers trained in each round of training; June 1 – August 31 and November 1 – February 29. (Club officers have at least 2 opportunities each round to earn this)
- Each club officer is registered and pays for training
- Each club officer attends a minimum of three hours of training (and signs the sign in sheet in each session)
- Attends their own club officer session and signs the sign in sheet
Will exceptions be made?
No. Any exceptions will need to be made by the Division Director prior to the Club Leadership and Educational Development event.
What do I do if I hold multiple club officer roles?
Ensure you indicate all of your club officer roles at the time of registration. It is especially helpful to know what club you belong to and what club officer role you have.
Attend each session for your club officer roles.
If the sessions for your club officer roles are at the same time, you will be urged to attend that session at another Club Leadership and Educational Development opportunity. You will need to attend 3 hours of training in one Club Leadership and Educational Development and then that other session.
Any exceptions will need to be made by the Division Director prior to the first Club Leadership and Educational Development session.
