Your host for the Filipino Showcase, Verge Monton, D42 Area C3 Director, has scoured the planet for some of the best Filipino speakers for our next CAP4ESL event. Verge has put together a dynamic program featuring accomplished Filipino ESL speakers who are leaders in their profession, their community, and in Toastmasters.

SPEAKERS: Ed Sacurat –   from Saudi Arabia’s District 79, an Immediate Past Area Director; Mark Jerome Villena – currently working in Rovaniemi, Finland, after winning awards in Saudi Arabia; Eugene Sicat – District 42 Program Quality Director; Rowena Romero – Region IV International Speech winner in the year 2005;  Merrillii Pinaroc – a Career and Employment Counsellor at the Centre for Newcomers, Calgary.

This is the monthly event of the Career Advancement Program for ESL professionals (CAP4ESL).  We meet every last Monday each month at lunchtime from 12:00pm – 1:00pm (Mountain Time in Alberta).

Our ESL professionals are challenged at the workplace.  It’s not just about learning a new language.  It’s also about learning how to understand and navigate the culturally diverse workforce.  And it’s a problem that can be solved by our effort.

We join together to share experiences, discuss the challenges, provide support and find solutions.  The theme in 2022  includes skills leveraging, career accent and fluency, showing your skill in real life, performance review at work, and leveraging language tools to prepare for your career, to just name a few.
