Key Dates & Submission Process

One of the final duties of District 42 is to recognize and celebrate the outstanding members and leaders across our District through the annual “Of the Year” Awards program. As we prepare to close this chapter of District 42, we are proud to continue this important tradition of recognizing excellence and dedication.

The process will remain the same as in previous years.

District 42 recognizes outstanding members in several categories:

• Rookie of the Year
• Toastmaster of the Year
• Public Relations of the Year
• President of the Year
• Area Director of the Year
• Division Director of the Year

Key Deadlines

1.  Club-Level Nominations (Rookie, Toastmaster, and Public Relations of the Year Awards) Due: June 30, 2026
2. Area-Level Nominations (Rookie, Toastmaster, and Public Relations of the Year Awards) Due: July 15, 2026
3. Division-Level Nominations (Rookie, Toastmaster, Public Relations, and Area Director of the Year Awards) Due: July 30, 2026
4. District-Level Nominations (Rookie, Toastmaster, Public Relations, Area Director, Division Director, and President of the Year Awards) Due: August 15, 2026

Submission Procedure

1. Nomination Candidates are nominated at the club level. Clubs may conduct their nomination and selection process in any format they choose
2. Evaluation & Selection (Club → Area) The immediate past Club President or another club executive submits the required forms to their Area Director. (In the absence of an Area Director, submissions should be sent to Districttrio@d42tm.org.
3. Area Review The immediate past Area Director (or delegate) reviews submissions, selects a winner, and forwards the nomination to the Division Director. (In the absence of a Division Director, submissions should be sent to Districttrio@d42tm.org.
4. Division Review: The immediate past Division Director (or delegate) selects a Division winner and submits the nomination to the District at Districttrio@d42tm.org.
5. District Selection: The immediate past District Director (or delegate) reviews the finalists and selects the overall award recipients.
6. Eligible President of the Year candidates will be informed by the Immediate Past District Director, Debbie Stearns, no later than July 15, 2026.

These awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognize the exceptional dedication and achievements within our clubs, Areas, and Divisions. I encourage everyone to participate in the nomination process and celebrate the incredible leaders and members who make District 42 successful.

Typically, Area and Division recipients are announced at special Division “Of the Year” Awards events held in the fall. District-level recipients will be announced at the District “Of the Year” Awards event in September. Additional details will be announced shortly.
