Celebrating Distinguished Clubs

The Road to Excellence

As we approach the final stretch of the Toastmasters year, it’s time to celebrate the dedication and achievements of our clubs striving for excellence. The Distinguished Club Program (DCP) is a benchmark for success, guiding clubs toward growth, quality meetings, and member engagement. If your club isn’t yet on the distinguished path, there’s still time to take action and finish the year strong!

What Is the Distinguished Club Program?

The DCP is a performance-based recognition program that helps clubs measure their success in key areas, such as education, membership growth, and club administration. Clubs can achieve one of three levels:

  • Distinguished Club (5 goals)
  • Select Distinguished Club (7 goals)
  • President’s Distinguished Club (9+ goals)

Each goal represents a milestone in leadership development, educational achievements, and club operations, ensuring a thriving environment for all members.

How Clubs Can Achieve Distinguished Status

If your club is still working toward Distinguished status, here are some steps to help you reach your goals by June 30:

  1. Encourage Speech Completions
Members should focus on completing projects in their Pathways learning journey. If members are close to finishing a level, encourage them to set a target completion date. Clubs can schedule special meeting themes, such as Speech-a-thons, to help members achieve their educational goals.
  1. Recruit and Retain Members
A strong, engaged membership base is key to club success. Consider hosting open houses, guest nights, or membership-building campaigns. Follow up with guests and new members to ensure they feel welcomed and supported.
  1. Submit Dues and Administrative Reports on Time
Ensuring that membership dues are submitted by the deadlines (April 1 for the next renewal period) keeps clubs in good standing. Additionally, clubs should submit new officer lists on time to facilitate a smooth transition for the next Toastmasters year.

Let’s Finish Strong!

With a few months left in the Toastmasters year, now is the perfect time to take action. Whether your club is on track for Distinguished status or has work to do, small steps can make a big difference. Let’s celebrate the progress we’ve made and push forward to end the year with a strong, vibrant, and successful club!
