Division Circle of Gold Participants,
Saturday, December 5, 2020

This screen shot photo shows our Division Circle of Gold which was held Friday, November 27th. It captures all the smiling faces of our competitors and the volunteers who cheerfully gave their time and expertise. Not only was it an evening filled with fun and laughter, but also feedback and learning!  Thus, Circle of Gold is such an amazing concept! That we are able to help our competitive speakers is wonderful enough.  Additionally, we know that we can help them with our feedback as they are helping each other!  Now that is a heartwarming experience!

Feedback for Division Winners

We had six humorous speakers, as well as four of our six Table Topics contestants,  all Division winners sharpening their skills to go forward to District on Saturday, Dec 5th. Humorous speakers showcased their speeches. Then, the sharp minds and wit of the Table Topics competitors left us in awe.  Honestly!  What could possibly be a better, more entertaining way to spend a Friday evening?

Frequently, competitors commented about how surprising it was that the feedback teams would “give up their Friday evening” to help other speakers!   Oh my goodness!  That is the foundation of Circle of Gold.  That is the objective of each and every one of the Circle of Gold core team and the feedback team members!  If our competitive speakers received just one nugget of feedback that they can take forward with them, then we have been successful!  And I believe that our District Circle of Gold was very successful.  Each and every competitor left us with suggestions to take their presentations to the next level.

Thankful for the Village

Thank you to Nandini Venkatesan, Val Erickson, and Darlene Davies – you truly are a Dream Team!!!  I believe, with all my heart, that District 42 owes a debt of gratitude to Darlene Davies, the brain child and creator of Circle of Gold……Darlene you have left your stamp on Toastmasters forever! As a competitive speaker myself, I can honestly say that there are few words to adequately express our gratitude.

Also, thank you to our feedback teams, our techies and our timers.  It takes a whole village to run a Circle of Gold. We value and appreciate every single villager. During my many years in Toastmasters, I found this organization is filled to the brim with wonderful, generous and engaged individuals. Without you we could not keep Circle of Gold going.  Thank you all so much!!!!
