March - Month of Madness

March is a month of renewal, growth, and change. As the winter months come to a close, the days become longer (YAHOO!) and the air becomes warmer (sometimes). Spring is on the horizon and with it comes the promise of new beginnings and fresh starts—tulips break ground and the smell of newly-mowed lawn is in the air.

This month, take the time to reflect on your goals and aspirations. Make the SMART. Whether you have a personal or professional goal, perhaps both, take action and make progress. Remember, progress isn’t always linear nor is it about perfection. It’s okay to take steps forward and sometimes a little bit backward; maybe even sideways. The important thing is that you keep moving forward most of the time.

Getting caught up in the daily hustle and bustle of life is easy, but it’s essential to step back and focus on your mental and physical health. Take time for yourself, whether it’s a quiet walk in nature or a relaxing bath at home. Remember that self-care isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.

Be open to change during the March Month of Madness. Change can be scary, but it’s always necessary for growth and progress. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone to try something new. Whether it’s taking a new class, starting a new hobby, or pursuing a new career, embrace the unknown and trust that everything will work out in the end.

As we enter the third month of the year, take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the people in your life who support and inspire you. It’s easy to take those we love for granted, but it’s important to show gratitude and appreciation for their presence in our lives. Take the time to reach out to a friend or family member and tell them how much they mean to you.

Remember to do three things this month:

  1. Deliver a presentation/speech in your club (perhaps do a ‘stretch goal’ of also giving one at another club;
  2. Shine Your Light with a video or written version telling all Toastmasters your “Then, Now, How” story;
  3. Invite someone each week to your club.

March is a month of growth, change, and new beginnings. Take time to reflect on your goals, practice self-care, embrace change, show gratitude, and believe in yourself.
Remember, you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. Keep moving forward; the rest will fall into place.
Believe in yourself, trust in your abilities, and never give up on your dreams. With work, determination, and a positive attitude, anything is possible.
