Midyear Milestones and Momentum

Celebrating Growth and Looking Ahead

As the Julian calendar approaches its year’s end, the Toastmasters calendar reaches its midpoint. With six months behind us and six months ahead, we can celebrate our accomplishments while looking forward with optimism and anticipation for what lies ahead.

This month, our district has increased its number of clubs to 103, thanks to the successful reinstatement of two clubs. Of these, 87 are in good standing. The reinstated clubs have also increased our base to 106, bringing our goal for President’s Distinguished status to 110. Both the Club Extension and Club Retention Committees are diligently collaborating with Divisions and Areas to offer comprehensive support, fostering a sense of encouragement as we build momentum.

To meet our goals and strengthen the District, we have invited Division Directors, or their delegates, to participate in the Extension and Retention Committees. These leaders are deeply familiar with their Division’s geography and the strengths of their members, making them valuable contributors. With this added expertise, we are confident in our ability to collaboratively drive club and membership growth.

One challenge highlighted in discussions with the Extension Committee and the Core Leadership Team is the lack of leads for new clubs. To address this, we’re introducing the Charter Quest Challenge, starting in December, to motivate members and provide an exciting incentive for contributing to our growth.

We are also looking for coaches, sponsors, and mentors. Information about these roles can be found [here](insert link). Along with gaining experience and transferable skills in coaching, mentoring, and leadership, participants can earn credit toward their Distinguished Toastmaster designation.

Finally, to all the members of District 42, I extend my warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Season’s Greetings. Thank you for all your contributions to our mutual journey of growth and friendship this year. Best wishes to you and your kin in 2025.

Charter Quest Challenge

Do you know someone in an organization that could benefit from a Toastmasters club? Could Toastmasters enhance an existing training program or benefit a community association where you live? If so, share a contact name and any pertinent details with the Club Extension team and they will take it from there. Email cgd@d42tm.org

For any lead resulting in a demo meeting with 20 or more attendees, you will receive a Toastmasters t-shirt. When the club charters, you’ll receive either a Toastmasters jacket or your choice of an item of equal value from the Toastmasters catalogue. Watch for more information and details soon.
