Why?
To develop REAL-WORLD online presentation skills! I love being a Meetup event host. Chatting with potential guests is energizing and rewarding! Being the face of my club I get to SHOWCASE my club members, their achievements and the benefits of the Toastmasters program. I now have a polished “elevator speech” sharing #MyWhy. Furthermore, my Toastmasters experience is enriched when I match the needs and goals of potential guests to the Pathways curriculum.
I encourage you to stretch your skills, add your club to the growing number of District 42 Clubs on our D42 Pro-Meetup Account and become a Meetup Event Host!
SHOWCASE your club:
- A current picture of your membership or use one of the many D42 branded images available
- An inviting title of upcoming meeting topics/themes
- A short description of what makes your club unique
- Recent member achievements and club awards
- How to join your next meeting
Then BRAG! We are the experts!
After each meeting post pics and comments about the event. What was the Word of the Day? – Who told a great joke? – What was the educational lesson? – Did a member complete a Pathways level? What was the value gained by participating in your meeting?
We (Toastmasters) ARE the experts in developing leadership and communication skills – let’s get the word out!
As a club event host you can add #MyWhy and #MyPath testimonials that will attract more guests. Guests are looking for an on-line learning program that is EXCITING, FLEXIBLE & INTERACTIVE. We know that Pathways is just that! Being an event host is a dynamic and fun way to practice your online presentation skills.
